YOUTUBE IS THE DEVIL
ok..well not really. but it can either help you, or hurt you as a dancer, especially if youre still developing your own style. I mentioned in a previous post that what you hear can influence the viewer. Bebe from GZC once talked about this in an old interview.
When you turn off the volume, your focus is more on the dancer’s content. Yes, musicality is important, its a dance…its what youre supposed to do anyway. But when you turn off the music/noise, did he really do anything decent?
Another example is the noise from the audience. Are they an immature group of spectators, or are they a group thats knowledgeable about the dance, and give props to real skill? Did the crew just run around the circle like animals to make it look like the dude did something dope, or was it actually dope?
So, if youre one to go on youtube and watch bboy battles/videos all day, test the sound experiment out and see if it made a difference from the first time you viewed it.
my fb. I was talkin about Bebe...volume down’…. Jermz
